Divya was asked to make work for a physical show in Sweden in November 2020 (when the only country in Europe not in lockdown was Sweden).  She responded to the situation since by then it was 9 months since the lockdown in the UK and cases of domestic violence against women had already skyrocketed. Women are having to bear the consequence of the pandemic, both economically and psychologically. The series of photos were done in the time between two lockdowns and she invited women of different nationalities to be part of it. The word ‘No’ is painted like a mask across their nose and mouth as a silent protest in their mother tongue.
